Now that 2021 is well underway, there is so much to be thankful for. The brilliance and tenacity of scientists who have worked tirelessly to figure out vaccines for Covid 19, are points of great thanksgiving.
2020 was a time of unprecedented, world-wide challenges, and for many of us it was a time to re-evaluate what is really important. We were no longer able to take family and friends for granted, even simple gatherings were beyond our reach. So much changed. We were faced with illness, isolation, uncertainty, and many were devastated by the death of a loved one. We saw the world at its most vulnerable, and witnessed human nature both at its worst, and its best.
Today, there are many things to be grateful for; the medical community, all hospital workers, first responders, and even strangers who reached out, and continue to reach out out to others with kindness and compassion. We continue to be grateful for people who show up to be of service to others; teachers, grocery store clerks, bus drivers, child care workers, and a myriad of others who continue to serve, despite the risks that we are still faced with. We are so encouraged by the protection offered to us by Covid vaccines, thank you to everyone who has worked so tirelessly to bring us to this point.
Congratulations to everyone who survived new parenthood in 2020, and to those of you looking forward to a new little one in 2021. I continue to be in awe of the unlimited potential of human beings. Each one really is a gift.
